Pancakes!

Tonight was breakfast for dinner. Last night with his mouth full of Black beans and Rice Jacob announced that he wanted pancakes for dinner tommorrow night. So, tonight when I came home thats what we made.

Jacob stood up at the island in the kitchen on a chair and helped me prepare the pancakes. Apparantly to make pancakes correctly you must talk in a very 'superhero-ish' voice. It was all -

“The batter is ready for mixing Captain Daddy!”
“Alrighty there, Cub Wonder, Let me get my special Batter Buster Spatula!”
“Ok! Captain Daddy! I am here to mix!”
“Sidekick Jacob! Now we add some special stuff!”
“Captain Daddy! Let me pour the vanilla!”
“Here ya go chum! And don't forget about that yummy Nutmeg!”

Yes, it was like he was Superman and I was channelling Adam West. We were speaking very powerful, loud, and articulate (well as articulate as a three year old can speak). You could just see the exclaimation points floating through the air.

Pamela would come strolling through every once in a while and just roll her eyes at the two of us. We were having so much fun.

Then he came over to supervise the actual cooking of the pancakes, but that quickly became rather dull and boring so he went off to find a villan or two. He had his cape on and his faithful hound by his side.

He discovered the joy of bacon tonight too. I cooked up a few strips just for something different. He tried just a bite of mine, he wasn't too sure of it. And soon he was asking for more. He was willing to eat all that was put in front of him.
