I'm really glad that one of the first things children learn to do is make their parents laugh. I think it's a mutual good feeling, makes everyone feel better, breaks that tension.
Tonight as we were trying to get the little boy down to sleep, he made the 'farty-noise' on Pamela's belly. Then he looked up and said 'Gebah fun-ny guy' (Gebah is his way to pronounce his name, That's a hard 'G' sound.). As Pamela and I dried our tears of laughter, she mentioned that she hopes his sense of humor will grow up past fart jokes soon. I didn't want to burst her bubble, but I had to point out that fart jokes are the main material for many boys right up until .. well ... I'm not sure when, but its QUITE a few years before he stops using fart jokes as the 'capper'
