On All Things Considered they had an article about how the authors kid found the show strange... well, I really can't comment too much. Cub finds the Rankin/Bass Rudolph unsettling.
Cub has watched "A Charlie Brown Christmas" everynight since we Dvr'd it. It's his new favorite obsession. I don't know if it's our TV or the quality of the video. But the colors seem kinda bright and garish at points when the whole gang is on screen in their winter coats.
"A Charlie Brown Christmas" is the season marker for me. The first time I watch it I finally feel it's the holidays and can start looking for a tree and baking cookies.
I've caught Cub trying to dance like Shermy a few times. He gets embarrased quickly and stops and goes back to the 5 year old twirling dance instead. But he knows that the song that is dominant in the show is called 'Linus and Lucy' and he asks for it on a regualr basis.
Linus doing the bible story always touches me .. back in my theater days I'd often walk out to the front of the stage and say 'Lights Please', but they never came on. And I never got to do the dialogue. Now I've lost it, and can't remember all the words. Here it is
Merry Christmas ..
