Last night on TCM they had a Rogers and Hammerstein Festival. So I DVR'd 'Oklahoma' and 'South Pacific'. Tonight as we were getting Jacob settled down I made Pamela watch all the great musical numbers on both movies.
After South Pacific, and the "Happy Talk" song, she'll never be able to hear it again without doing the hand movements that go with it.
During the verse -
You've got to have a dream,
If you don't have a dream,
How you gonna make your dream come true?
The hand movement is to hold you hands up around your face, palms out, I think of it as rays of sunshine .. She keeps calling it "Jazz hands"
If she's not careful I'll rent "All that Jazz" and that'll show her what "Jazz Hands" are.
She mocks me for loving those old musicals, Funny thing is .. if Grease is on, she immediately becomes glued to the set.
She's a big Rizzo (Stockard Channing) fan.
