Cub Gaming

2005-01-03 (23:05:05)

A correction should be made to Pamela's post yesterday about Cub playing D&D for the first time yesterday. It was his first time playing 'pen and paper' D&D, with his momma doing most of the Pen work. He's been playing RPG's since he was born. First sitting in our laps and then playing on his own. In Neverwinter Nights he leans towards Dwarves and in Morrowind he leans towards the Khajiit (Cat-People).

With a gift card to Barnes and Noble I received for Christmas I purchased the 'D&D Basic Game' Box set the other day. It came with some pre-made characters, an adventure, some dice, miniatures and a map sized for the miniatures.

It's been a while since I played D&D so I read the instructions once or twice and sat down with Pamela and Cub to play. I think everyone had a good time, Cub didn't lose interest too quickly.

Talking to Pamela today I asked what Cub was doing and she replied -

He's asking when he can play 'THAT GAME' again ...

When I walked in the door tonight he wanted to sit down and play. But we had to wait until Jamey fell asleep. So in the meantime, after dinner, he and I went up to the Comic Shop and bought some more miniatures.

He's playing a Dwarf Cleric in this series of adventures, and letting Pamela play three other characters. He's very protective of the character and makes him hide out in back most of the time. Funny thing though, he rolls high numbers all the time. The Cleric seems to come through whenever needed.
