I always wanted to be a spook. When I was a kid, and a teenager and an adult one of the jobs I always wanted to have was to work for 'the company'. Whether that was the CIA, NSA, FBI or .. whomever .. I never thought of myself as a 'James Bond' type, more along the lines of 'Q'. The guy who built all the really cool stuff. The guy who gets to play with all the new toys and figure out new ways of doing things.
Or heck even just a hacker. Whacking away at a keyboard down in the bowels of some non-descript building. Knowing full well that there was my counterpart in some non-descript building on the other side of the world doing the same thing. The challenge being, which one of us would do it first.
