That's right, I get up this morning and it's 58 degrees what a wonderful morning. All the windows in the house are open, there's a slight (very slight) breeze blowing. Great Great Great! do I think this weather is going to last? NOT A CHANCE. But I have to take advantage of it while I can.
It's been quiet in the house for the past two days, Pamela and Jacob have been down in central Florida for some type of LLL conference. I miss them terribly, I had thought that it would be nice to have some alone time, but I find I miss reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom 4 times in one setting. I tried to read it to Sofie, but she just cocked her head and looked at me funny and decided that what I really needed was to play ball with her instead. *sigh*
Have I gotten anything accomplished during all this peaceful time? Not as much as I had hoped for, I've spent some time sending out resumes, making calls to old contacts. I've done alot of VB studying (thats right I have begun looking at the programming for the 'dark side'). All I can say is 'wow', I wish I had known how easy it was to do this before. I'm really enjoying it, it's not like the uncomfortable feeling you get when trying to do something in JAVA.
I mopped the kitchen this morning before checking email, and I guess I'm going to have to vacuum the house in a bit. I am usually not allowed to vacuum, Pamela says I don't do a 'complete' job, but my thoery is 'Any vacuuming is better than no vacuuming'. But I don't think she sees it that way ... must be one of those female things..
Has anyone out there used one of those 'Bag free' vacuums that they have been hawking lately? I've been thinking about one of those when our vacuum finally dies. I know, I know you say to yourself
'But Dave, vacuums should last for quite a while, didn't you get yours just a few years ago?'.
Yes, thats true we did get ours about a year before we moved into this house, but with two dogs, a cat and a toddler (oh, and a messy husband) it's done quite a bit of work. I take it apart on a regular basis to clear out whatever crap has become wrapped around the beater bar. And it has begun to have that funky smell of something 'just not quite right' after you have been using it for a bit.
What I really want is one that has a bit more amperage. We have a 12 amp, but I want something like a 20 amp vacuum, I want it to actually get stuff out of the carpet instead of just taking the top layer and then pushing the rest further down in the carpet with the beater bar.
I guess that'll have to wait until I find another job again , and get out of debt .. AH to dream!
