Oh, sure, Noggin is a godsend for kid's tv. No commercials, no brain twinkies, nothing that makes a parent's ears bleed. But you know what Cub REALLY likes to watch?
Alton Brown.
You know, the Good Eats guy, on Food TV. Actually, if I recall correctly, it was one of the first two-dimensional things he paid attention to -- he's mesmerized by the Food Science. Gets all happy when he hears the theme music, just like his daddy. With any luck, by the time he's three I'll never have to cook again. Just *shudder* clean up ...
In other news, he's added many more signs to his repertoire, and many more words to his vocabulary (many of which are All David's Fault). He's developed a deep attachment to his little bear, so I made him a sling to carry it around. He made up his own sign for "bear", smart little boy. He's obsessed with this blue tie-dye hat that we got for $5 in Denmark. He wears it with EVERYTHING, including pyjamas. When we went to the LLL conference in Tampa, he wore it for three straight days. I took it off when he fell asleep. Everyone could identify me as "she's got the kid with the hat." Ah, well. Better that than "she's got the kid with the juvenile record."
