Kissing Bandit

Last night Brian, Lisa and 'the Lex' came over for some homemade Lo-Mien dinner. This is a usual occurrence with our two families. Pamela and Lisa gossip, Brian and I talk geek things and try to sneak away to the computer room (but are ALWAYS scolded and told not to be such 'nerds'), Lex and Jacob goof around on the floor. He follows her around and she puts up with being around a 'younger man' (she's almost 6?).

Well as I was making dinner I noticed Jacob kept running into the kitchen doing his little 'war-cry' and then running back into the living room this went on for a good 30 minutes. Later on I found out he had been running up to Lex, giving her a kiss and then running off (that's my boy!). This behavior was totally unasked for too, it was something he thought about doing, no one egged him on. She is such a sweet and tolerant girl, when it was time to eat she came got her bowl of lo-mien (being shadowed by the boy) sat down and immediately Jacob decided that he wanted to taste HER lo-mien. So in went his pudgy little paw and grabbed a handful (did I mention how tolerant she is?) and SLUURP! That boy does love him some pasta. So we had to disengage that little drama and give him his own bowl full.

Later on when it was time to leave he gave Lex a hug and kiss (duh!), gave Brian a hug and kiss (doh!), and had to be persuaded to give Lisa a hug and a kiss (gotta talk to that boy!). The reason I even write about this is the fact that we've NEVER been ones to force Jacob to give kisses. Kisses are his property to dole out as he pleases. I think that makes it especially nice when he does give a kiss out. Besides, up until recently his kissy face resembled Popeye. He'd kinda scrunch up one side of his face and then plant one on ya sideways. It was a bit unnerving to see that coming towards you. You were never sure if he was going to kiss or bite.
