Here in our house it is becoming quite a production to diaper the boy. It's not impossible, you just have to be quick. Chanting the mantra '30 seconds...30 seconds is all I need!' seems to help.
I have found the key seems to be order and distraction, in that sequence. Before I even approach Jacob with the idea of a changing diapers I get the clean one ready.
Oh, for those of you that dont know, we are a cloth diaper household so there is a bit more preparation involved. I get the diaper cover oriented, place the diaper on the cover and then a pad (a swatch of polartec) on the diaper to keep the wetness from the skin.
Once the clean diaper is prepared, then it's time to deal with the boy. Apparantly Jacob considers himself half cat. So the best way to distract im is to dangle something stringlike with some bright and shiny pieces on it over his head. He'll get mesmerized, grab it and try to bite it. Hopefully during this time period you can get the dirty diaper off and and the clean one on.
